Rows of semi-detached houses along Gwydyr Road, Tayler Avenue, Graham Road and Bibby Road in Dolgarrog were built, probably around the time of the second World War (1939-45) when the village was expanding, for workers at the nearby Aluminium Works (nprn 406498), which was then under the control of the Ministry of Aircraft Production. The houses are concrete framed with concrete infill panels; although most have been modernised with new windows and doors and the exterior walls rendered, there is a group of five houses (nos. 15-19) on Gwydyr Road where the concrete construction is clearly visible.
