Description
Site of a water powered corn mill now reduced to ground level, possibly because it is close to the end of the runway of RAF Valley. In 1975 the corner and wheelpit of a stone building could be seen, with the wooden axle and cast iron hubs of a seven-spoked composite waterwheel, c4 metres in diameter and 0.9 wide, in situ.
By November 2008 the adjacent land surface had been raised to the level of the top of the surviving mill walls, distinguished by the ivy growing on them. Water flows from the millpond to the north-east, through a sluice in the brick-built mill dam and into a steep-sided gully through the former wheelpit. One of the waterwheel hubs still appears to be in situ.
