DescriptionIn 1975 this mill was roofless and in ruins, the interior overgrown and part-filled with rubble from the collapsed gables. The building was 8.2 by 4.9 metres, the east side excavated into the rock. The wheel pit was on the north gable and probably accommodated an overshot wheel 0.9m wide; it was not possible to estimate its diameter. The stream course had been recently deepened through the former mill pond. The building appears on all three editions of the 25-inch OS maps, but is not distinguished as a mill, and may have been disused by the 1880s.
By 2008 some further collapse of the walls had taken place, and the stream had obliterated the wheelpit and was washing the north gable.
