In 1975 traces of a leat, pond and tailrace could be traced, but the position of the former mill was uncertain. The evidence of the historic OS maps is inconclusive; the name Melin Rhos now refers to the farm house 40 metres to the north-west.
It is reputed that there was a mill on or near this site in the 14th century.
