Description
Bangor Public Library is dated 1907 and was built by A E Dixon and C H Potter of Manchester. It is an Edwardian Barogue single storey building with a three-bay Ruabon brick front and ashlar dressings. It also has slate roofs and a central dome flanked by gable ended cross ranges. There are Venetian windows to the outer bays with small panes, colonettes and aprons. The central bay which is set back to form the lower entrance has the lettering "Llyfrgell Rydd 1907".

The interior has an octagonal inner porch lit by the dome where there are copper tablets which commemorate the benefactors of the Library, largely paid for by Andrew Carnegie. There is also a segmental roof with ornamented plaster ribs and art nouveau radiators.

The Library has group value with the Town Hall, Bangor Museum and the Art Gallery.
