Description
The building is reputed to have belonged to Mr Davies, a smith, employed by Thomas Telford during his work on the Holyhead Road from 1819 onwards. The smithy has a keystone inscribed '1825 Davies' over the forge opening, although this is probably reset.

The building is of stone construction with a slate roof and stone chimney stacks. It is of 2 storeys, with 2 abutting 'L'-shaped buildings with left gables to the main road and with gable stacks. The westerly building has the door over which there is a dormer window whilst the easterly building is set lower, and contains the smithy.
