Description
Polygonal, denuded earthwork enclosure measuring approximately 74m across. The earthwork is univallate with sharp angles and straight sides. It survives on a tract of improved pasture, on a broad saddle of a ridge, with boggy unimproved ground immediately on the east side. Given its prominent position, morphology and character, and the fact that it bears no relation to present field boundaries (as one might expect with a medieval or later stock enclosure) it would appear to be convincing as a later prehistoric defended enclosure. Discovered during RCAHMW aerial reconnaissance on 16th October 2008 (image refs: AP_2008_2981-2982).
