DescriptionThe name now applies to a dwelling, the centre part of which was probably the mill house; of the mill itself there is no sign. However, to the east of the site is a sub-circular millpond, surrounded by trees and now almost dry, built up on the brow of a gentle hill with earth banks reinforced by a massive stone wall. The pond was fed by a leat some 280 metres long, of which part is shown on the first two editions of the 25-inch O. S. maps. The final part of the leat may have been culverted under the field.
