Spectacular remains of slate quarries which dominate the local landscape of Porthmadog and Tremadog. The remains comprise a massive linear area of extraction along the northern slopes of Moel-y-Gest, centrally accessed by a steep incline down to the valley floor. Recorded during RCAHMW aerial reconnaissance.
