Description
A group of building platforms is strung out along a steep SE-facing slope below the ridge of Cefn Cul in the upper Cray valley at around 360m above OD. Most are rectangular on plan though others are more oval and some are split-level platforms. The rectangular platforms are mostly aligned at right angles to the hillslope. Associations are few; one platform is linked to a small enclosure while a small cairn lies near another. Some small platforms are close to larger ones, as if ancillary to them.
While this group of monuments can be accorded a broad domestic-agriculture-subsistence classification, the purpose of individual structures within the group is unknown.
See individual site records (NPRNs 40952-62).
