Pentre Farm consists of a complex of buildings in Cwmystwyth village and outlying fields. On the first edition of the Ordnance Survey 25in map of 1888 a horse circle is shown by one of the outbuildings, but is not depicted on the second edition of 1905. Between 1888 and 1905, a small timber-framed corrugated-iron-clad barn was erected on the north side of the road and this still stands although in perilous condition.
