Description
Ffrwdgrech House is a country house of 1828, probably by Robert Lugar. It was extended and altered c. 1892. The library was remodelled c. 1930. Late Georgian in style, the house is stucco painted with 20th century sand-textured paint, and with a green stone plinth. The low-pitched slate roofs are on deep eaves with paired brackets. There are no windows to the left bay, apparently blocked in late 19th century. The entrance is set in a fine Bath stone Ionic portico which has paired unfluted Ionic columns and a frieze in Bath stone, but cornice and blocking course in red sandstone.
