Description
Cilymaenllwyd mansion was at one time owned by the Mansells of Mudlescwm, Carmarthenshire. The mansion changed hands several times before it passed into the hands of the Howard-stepney family early in the 20th century and from them to the Murray-Threiplands. It was built in 1853, replacing an earlier house, and rebuilt in 1911. It became a convalescent home in 1965, and in 1985 became a private nursing home. It is an imposing building of 2 and 3 storeys with a clock tower, and a central entranceway has a porch with 6 columns which support entablature on which there is a stone balcony.
