The Haven is one of a group of three similar houses built in 1922 at the lower end of The Close by the outstanding Arts and Crafts architect, Herbert Luck North (1871-1941), who lived and worked in Llanfairfechan from c.1901.

The house has two storeys and a pair of distinctive gables facing the front and rear. These gables are steep but flatten out as they approach the ground, and between them at the front a Gothic archway gives access to the recessed porch. The walls are of roughcast brickwork, the windows are metal casements with small panes (similar to the timber windows North used before the First World War) and the roofs are of small graded slates.

Inside a polygonal entrance hall leads to a through-living-room on one side and a dining room on the other side, with hatch access to the kitchen behind. A simply balustered staircase leads to the four bedrooms, which have high ceilings and cupboards in the eaves. Contrasting with their tall narrow windows is the bathroom window, tucked below the rear eaves and at a height to offer a view when sitting in the bath.

The fireplaces have Gothic arches and the boarded internal doors have wooden latches.
