Description
Now attached at its side to Blaengwawr House, Blaengwawr Farmhouse appears on the Tithe Map of 1847 as three stepped wings with two farmyard buildings uphill to the rear and without Blaengwawr House. By the time of the first OS map surveyed 1868, the development of House and farmyard to its present layout had taken place. Probably the farmhouse itself was extended at the same time. It is a two-storey farmhouse built of limewashed stone with later alterations and additions in brick. It has a Welsh slate roof and brick stacks. The garden-facing frontage has a range of cambered-arched six-pane sashes. There is also a single storey bay with blocked doorway attached linking the house with the two-storey farm range at the rear. This has a two very small-pane windows to each storey and at ground level a range of five blocked arched openings in brick, and was presumably used by hens. The gable end has a cambered arched doorway and window.

It is listed as as the central building of a mid C19 planned farmstead. Group value with Blaengwawr House.
