Ffos Las Racecourse is the first new racecourse to have been completed in Britain in 80 years, and the newest one to open. The 600 acre complex at Trimsaran, Carmarthensire, West Wales was developed by a local businessman Dai Williams, created and designed by the Walters Group, on the site of a former open cast coalmine. Ffos Las offers National Hunt and Flat racing. The oval, all weather track is one mile four furlongs in length. There is an enclosure to hold 15,000 people and a 1,000 seater grandstand. The racecourse opened on 18th June 2009.
