Wrexham Garden Village was an ambitious housing scheme initiated by Wrexham Tenants Limited in 1913 under the aegis of Co-Partnership Tenants, but adopted as one of its first five schemes by the Welsh Town Planning and Housing Trust. The architect G. L. Sutcliffe was responsible for the layout of the estate, as well as for many of the building designs. The initial plan for the estate, covering some 81ha, includes provision for a village institute, two places of worship and a school, in addition to liberal provision for open spaces and recreation grounds.
