Treffgarne Gorge Defended Enclosure comprises a small enclosure, under coniferous forest, on the east side of the gorge. It has a bank and ditch encircling an area about 25 meters in diameter, with a surviving curved bank entrance. The external ditch is about 4 meters wide and at its deepest about 3 meters deep. This site has at least seven others of its kind surviving within a mile and a half stretch of the steep-sided Treffgarne Gorge.
