School appears on OS 25-inch First Edition (1861-1899) and may date to the 1840s and the period immediately following the Commission of Enquiry into the State of Education in Wales in 1846/7. The school amalgamated in 2019 with Mount Airey Nursery and Infants School to create new Waldo Williams Primary School which initially opened on the two separate sites where Mount Airey and Haverfordwest VC School were based, with a single governing body and management structure. From September 2020, all classes were taught at the Augustine Way site, but in March 2022 moved into a new building at Scarrowscant Lane. The former school buildings of Haverfordwest Church in Wales VC School at Barn Street are to be returned to the St David's Diocese.
