This house is dated 1876, and was probably designed by E. A. Ould for W. E. Samuel, for his own use (his initials appear in a monogramme over the doorway). Built from brick in the Arts and Craft style, it has a half-timbered upper storey and a red plain tiled roof. The entrance front faces Fairy Road, and has a central entrance porch with a four-centred stone archway, with date and initials on the lintel. There is a canted oriel with a steep facetted conical roof jettied out above the entrance. There are paired sash windows either side of the doorway, and a segmental string course or corbel table below the timbered upper storey, which has casement windows either side of the central oriel. There is alos a semi-octagonal turret with continuous casement windows with leaded glazing and faceted conical roof.
It is listed as a very good example of the Arts and Crafts style, using local materials.
