Description
The quays are accessed via a tunnel under the railway line and provide a focus for continued small scale boat repair. The hauling- out facilities utilise a concrete slipway probably dating to World War II and the use of the estuary as military firing range (see MOS EE AA Ynsylas). The western harbour arm forms a breakwater, whilst the eastern arm extend around the curve of the headland. The quays are made formed from stacked slate-waste and are in the process of being repaired and raised for flood defence.
