Description
Gifted by Lord Tredegar to Cardiff Corporation in December 1901, Splott Park is an Edwardian Park covering 18 acres in extent. It features a bandstand built in 1904; cricket pitches and children's playground laid out in 1904; practice nets were put up in 1905; the bowling green was opened on 15 June 1906; a quoits pitch and tennis courts were provided in 1907. The swimming pool at Splott Park opened on 14 August 1922. Work on the pool began in mid-October 1921 and was completed by late-March 1922. New covered baths were built in 1976 and were refurbished in 2003.
