Know to local residents as `the Green Park? to distinguish it from the larger Recreation Ground in Ynysybwl, this site was first conceived of by the Lodge Committee of the Lady Windsor Colliery in 1906. Secured from the estate of Richard Thompson Crawshay by Mountain Ash Urban District Council in 1910, the site comprises an under-sized playing field and children's play area. This is an early example of trades-union organised recreational space.
