Description
The open-air swimming baths on the Newbridge Fields, Bridgend, were opened at the end of the 1930s and were constructed following a Special Areas Commission grant to Bridgend Urban District Council of £5,738 in 1936. This was one of just twelve open-air swimming pools funded in this way across South Wales and the only one within the boundaries of the former Bridgend Urban District. The baths were replaced in the 1980s by a modern leisure centre and subsequently filled in.
