Site Record

Opened in March 1932, Hawthorn Greyhound Track was the first specially constructed greyhound stadium in Pontypridd - the previous track in the town at Taff Vale Park being built within an existing facility. Racing took place here until the 1960s and has subsequently been used by the Pontypridd Schools Rugby Football Club. The site is still known as the ?Greyhound Racecourse? and the outline of the racecourse is still clearly visible from above.
