Description
One of a group of pillow mounds (NPRN 412841), this rectangular mound is enclosed by a collapsed stone wall. The mound measures 9m long (NNW-SSE) by 3.3m and 0.6m high. It is turf-covered with an earth and stone core and is surrounded by a ditch overgrown with rushes. The enclosed area measures 11.6m by 6.6m within a now tumbled wall on its east, west and south sides and a 2m wide earthen bank on the north side. Coursed walling survives to 0.7m high and 1m thick on the east side but is otherwise spread to a 2m wide stone bank. The south wall is joined to the mound by a `causeway? across the ditch.
