DescriptionThe largest, and uppermost, in a group of pillow mounds (NPRN 412841) this linear mound measures up to 48m long (NNW-SSE), though its upper reaches are indistinct as its surface becomes uneven and merges with rising ground. Its width averages 3.7m and has a maximum height of about 1m. It is flanked by rush-filled ditches particularly well-marked on the west side. Its south-east end is prominently ditched on its west side with a counterscarp bank suggesting another possible mound 10m long by 2m wide (SN81801385). Nearby, a mound adjacent to the ditch on the east side of the pillow mound measuring 5m by 2m may be no more than a counterscarp feature.
