Opened in 1927, Pontllanfraith Miners? Welfare Ground was laid out with the assistance of a £4,000 grant from the Miners? Welfare Fund. At the time of opening it consisted of a cricket pitch, bowling green, tennis courts, and children's playground, all of which survive today.
