Opened in 1934, the Open-Air Swimming Baths at Gelligaled Park were the first public swimming baths in the Rhondda Valleys. Built by Rhondda Urban District Council, the baths remained in use until the construction of a modern, indoor leisure centre at Gelligaled Park in the early 1980s. The baths have subsequently been demolished.
