Description
The Laurels is a large end terrace house built sometime between 1899 and 1912, as the 25? Ordnance Survey maps of these dates show. It faces roughly due northwest onto Llangollen Road and like the majority of houses in Acrefair is constructed from red brick, possibly from local brick works. The highly glazed brick used in the gable wall is also characteristic of the area. The main facade is double fronted with a central flat-roofed porch and two bay windows at ground floor level. Upstairs there are three more windows with painted window heads, the central one above the porch being considerably narrower than the others. In common with many of the surrounding houses it also features decorative terracotta eaves. The roof is ceramic tiled with two red brick mid-ridge gable chimney stacks. The house is set slightly back from the road with a small front garden in between. This is demarcated by a low boundary wall, also constructed from red brick, topped with iron railings. There is also a central iron gate and a brick pathway leading to the entrance.
