Description
The boundary wall for the former J C Edwards Tref-y-nant Fireclay Works and company offices are marked by four brick gate piers visible by the roadside near Trevor. The works are clearly shown on the 1st edition Ordnance Survey map of 1877. They appear clearly on subsequent maps until the closure of the works in the mid-1950s. Little now survives of the industrial buildings. The boundary wall and gate piers are the only substantial physical remnants of the works. They are currently in danger of collapse, and are being supported in part by scaffolding.

The gate piers are themselves a product of J C Edwards, who produced high quality bricks, tiles and decorative terracotta items at both Tref-y-nant and the nearby Pen-y-bont works.
