Description
An end terrace house situated on Rock Hill, which dates from around 1873, as shown on the Ordnance Survey 25? map of this date, and is built from a mixture of materials. The gable wall is stone while the two main facades are brick finished with pebble dash. The orientation of the house is somewhat unusual as the gable end with its one small, high window is the one which faces the road. The main elevation faces roughly northeast and access is provided by a narrow pathway enclosed by a red brick wall. The design is fairly regular but not as uniform as some late 19th century developments as the three windows, one on the ground floor and two upstairs, are all of varying sizes. There is also a small velux window in the slate-tiled roof, which features decorative holed ridge tiles and one of the three red brick chimneys serving the row. The southern facade contains a small, red brick porch and faces onto a back garden which narrows gradually to a point. Because of the slope of the hill the garden is considerably elevated and the wooden boundary fencing sits on top of a high stone wall.
