Castell Alun High School is an English medium 11-18 comprehensive school located in the village of Hope (Yr Hob) that is approximately seven kilometres to the north-west of Wrexham. The school was built in 1958 and in 2017 there were 1,360 pupils on roll, including 300 in the sixth form. The school was photographed by the RCAHMW during aerial reconnaissance on 14 March 2003. Under Welsh Government's 21st Century Schools Programme, from 2018 to 2021 refurbishment work and extensions were carried out at Castell Alun High School. A £5m project has provided a new Art and Design Technology teaching block and remodelled internal accommodation.
