Description

Pembroke School was a mixed 11-18 comprehensive school of 1490 pupils on roll in a rural area at the far south west of Wales. The school was formed in 1973 as a result of the amalgamation of the former Pembroke Grammar School and Coronation Secondary Modern School. Around 1982 it became a County Secondary Comprehensive (coeducational) School on one site at the top of Bush Hill midway between the towns of Pembroke and Pembroke Dock. All the school buildings were contained within the boundaries of a former private estate of nearly 100 acres with views over the lawn to Pembroke Castle. A new school, Ysgol Harri Tudur, was built on site and opened in November 2018, followed by the demolition of the former Pembroke School buildings.
