Description
Deeside College is situated at Kelsterton, north-west of Connah's Quay. The college first opened in 1952 as Flintshire Technology College. In 1966 it became known as Flintshire College of Technology, and continued expanding until 1974 when it became the Kelsterton College - North East Wales Institute (NEWI). In 1993 the college became Deeside College, and is now part of the Deeside College Group, following it's merger with the Welsh College of Horticulture in 2009 and Coleg Llysfasi, also in 2009. The Deeside College Group is now one of the largest institutes in Wales, with courses for almost 22,000 students per year.

In 2011 a new centre, built by Anwyl Construction and costing £2.1 million was opened and voted the Best New Educational Building for 2011. The centre has an eco-friendly stance, with sun-pipe illumination, natural light sensors, a solar powered ventilation system and full ground source heating. The centre houses a learning zone, library, cafeteria and lecture rooms.
