Elfed High School is situated to the north of Buckley. It is a mixed co-educational comprehensive school for 11 to 18 year olds. The school had 716 pupils on roll in Jan 2011.

The school opened in 1954, and was purpose built. It is maintained by Flintshire County Council and serves the communities of Buckley, Drury and other surrounding villages. The school has, amongst other facilities, an all weather football pitch, rugby pitches and an indoor swimming pool.
