Description
Llanfoist Church was restored by the Bailey family. In the churchyard a tall granite pillar marks the grave of Crawshay Bailey who died in 1872 (NPRN 270114). Other notable figures buied in the churchyard include the experimental chemist Baldwyn, Robert Wheeley (died 1855) who was the work's manager, and members of the Steel family of surgeons and apothecaries, all of whom served the Blaenavon Iron & Coal Co. The churchyard also contains a cross (NPRN 306257).
