Description
The northern terminus of the Cambrian Coast Line to Aberystwyth via Machynlleth, the present Pwllheli station was opened in 1909 to supersede an earlier one (nprn 34671) some 800m to the east. Only one of the original two platforms is in use, the northern part of the site having been built upon by a supermarket. The signal box was closed in 1976 although it still stands and is in use as a ground frame.
