Pontywaun Garden Suburb is a hillside example of 'Garden Suburb' style, built in 1910-20 for officials of the Ebbw Vale Iron Steel & Coal Co. Sixty semi-detached dwellings are arranged around a central circle, with colour added through the varying materials of sandstone, render, slate and tile.
