Buckley Swimming Baths were opened by Henry Neville Gladstone in July 1928 at a cost of £5,500. Financed primarily through a £5,000 grant from the North Wales district of the Miners' Welfare Fund, financial and administrative assistance was provided by the local council upon whom the maintenance and running costs fell. The baths were designed by F. A. Roberts of Mold and included diving platforms at the deep end, raised seating overlooking the shallow end, and twenty dressing boxes for patrons to change. The baths were closed in 2005 following the construction of a modern leisure centre through the building remains.
