Description
The remains of a mortared stone and concrete dam on the Afon Goch. The river itself has eroded the bank to the SW, by-passing the dam which is therefore no longer effective.. It is however a fairly massive structure about 7m long and 2m high (max) set at right angles to the water flow with a vertical face and sloping front. From the base of this face an iron pipe protrudes, with stop valve. The top of the dam is about 0.75m wide, somewhat wider at its base. The dam wall continues at an angle of about 120 degrees to the SW fora further distance of about 17m, parallel to to the stream, in similar built style but reducing in height with the rising ground. It is about 1.5m wide throughout its length.
