Description
Former public house and hotel, set in the junction between the roads to Aberaeron and Tregaron. Now converted to domestic use, the substantial two-storey and basement building is of rendered stone construction under a partly hipped slated roof. On the first and second editions of the Ordnance Survey 25in maps, of 1889 and 1905 respectively, the hotel is annotated 'Railway House (P.H.)' The northwest wall still carries a pictorial sign, bearing the words 'Railway Hotel' above which, rather incongruously, is a painting of the famous London and North Eastern Railway locomotive 'Mallard' hauling the Yorkshire Pullman.
