DescriptionColwinston, along with Herbrandston and Llanfihangel-y-creuddyn, is one of three so-called "Thankful Villages" in Wales and one of 51 in the United Kingdom. These are villages with no traditional war memorial because all who left to fight in the First World War (1914-18) were lucky enough to return home.
