Description
The open-air swimming baths in Abertillery Park opened on 4 September 1900 and was one of the first such open-air swimming baths provided by a local authority in Wales. Superseded by a leisure centre in the town built in the 1970s (which was replaced itself in 2004) though it survived until the following decade. The site, which was overlooked by the oval-shaped rugby ground that dominates Abertillery Park, was filled in and subsequently masked by trees.
