Description
Cynonville Garden Village, in the Afan valley, was promoted by the Cynon Colliery Co in 1910 to attract labour to a previously unworked part of the coalfield. In the original plan there were 139 houses, that were mainly semi-detached, with shops and recreational facilities. After two rows of houses were built the start of the First World War prevented completion of the scheme.
