DescriptionAn extensive system of fields and enclosures was set out, probably in the 19th century, surrounding the farm (NPRN 415186). Fenton, during his tour through Pembrokeshire (1811) noted that the island's occupants kept sheep and cattle and sowed barley and oats in the enclosed fields. Broad cultivation ridges (c. 9 m across), contained within these fields, are visible on aerial photographs and LiDAR imagery, particulalry in the north-east of the island. These plough ridges appear to truncate other linear features which suggests at least two phases of agriculture on the island.
