Tir Stent Iron Ore Mine may be associated with Dolgun Furnace (NPRN 34128) which dates from the eighteenth century, although the precise age of the mine is unknown. Messrs Townsend and Warner were known to be working here by 1861. Between 1908 and 1913 the Brymbo Steel Co worked 12,000 tons here before the mine was closed. There are remains of a one foot six inch (45 centimetres) gauge tramway and the adits have been obscured by forestry.
