Ebbw Vale sports centre offers sports facilities, fitness suites, and rooms for exhibitions and conferences. It was built to replace the Ebbw Vale Lido, which was built in the 1930s. The building was demolished in 2014 following the opening of Ebbw Vale's new £15m sports centre in November 2013.

Ebbw Vale swimming pool was opened in 1962. It was constructed as part of the Civic Centre project, a site developed with Municipal Offices, a Public Assembly Hall, a Health Centre, a Crown Building, and the indoor swimming pool. The pool was the first part of this project to be completed, financed entirely from Council revenue. Indoor pool of 5 lanes, with tiled flooring around. 2m and 5m diving boards at one end, and banked spectator seating along one length behind which was full height glazing providing plentiful natural light. Patterned tiling behind the diving boards and to the front of spectator bank, timber cladding to otherwalls. Inset concrete ceiling.
