The Over Blister hangar once used by a glider training school for the Air Training Corps is reported to still be use by the golf course as a grounds maintenance equipment store.

Event and Historical Information:
The Glider School was instigated in 1939 as W6 Station and was staff by 1062 Squadron of the Air Training Corps. The gliders used were a Daglin and two Kirby Cadets,adn the station was provided with a hangar, towing winch and recovery vehicles. In 1943, with arrival of US Army, the grass airstrip was shared with the Piper Cub L4 reconnaisance aircraft of the 58th and 87th Armoured Field Artillery Battalions.
