Description
Clynderwen Farmers Co-operative was established in 1904 to buy surplus produce from local farmers and re-sell it in areas where the goods were needed. The current site in Clynderwen, previously a butter factory, was purchased in 1907. Re-development following a fire in 1922 included a new butter factory and egg-testing unit and after 1930 a creamery was established.

There is a photograph of the building in a privately-owned album of photographs and documents in a scrapbook produced by P. F. Carter to provide a record of the development of the milk industry in West Wales 1928-1961. See People's Collection Wales www.peoplescollection.wales/items/491974.
